A 10-yard roll-off dumpster is the smallest container in our Asheville fleet — and the most versatile for single-room projects, light cleanouts, and jobs where you need a dumpster that fits in a tight spot. At 14 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and 3.5 feet tall, it holds approximately 10 cubic yards of debris — the equivalent of 3 full pickup truck loads. It fits in any standard Asheville driveway. Yes — in virtually every case. The 10-yard is our most compact container and fits on any standard residential driveway in Asheville, Black Mountain, Swannanoa, Weaverville, or anywhere in Buncombe County. It requires approximately 16 feet of clearance in length and 10 feet of width — less than a standard parking space. No overhead clearance concerns for most residential properties.

For steep hillside driveways in North Asheville, Kenilworth, or Chunns Cove: the 10-yard is light enough that hook-lift delivery is straightforward even on significant grades. We’ve delivered 10-yard containers to some of the steepest driveways in Buncombe County without issue.

The WNC Weight Warning for 10-Yard Rentals

The 10-yard container includes 1 ton (2,000 lbs) of debris weight. For typical household cleanout items — boxes, furniture, light demo material — this is more than adequate. But Western North Carolina generates heavier debris than most markets:

• Mountain stone and concrete: ~1.5–2 tons per cubic yard. Half a cubic yard of stone fills the weight limit of the entire 10-yard container.
• WNC hardwood (oak, hickory, walnut): Dense native species run 0.5–0.7 tons per cubic yard stacked.
• Flood-waterlogged materials: Post-Helene drywall, flooring, and insulation can weigh 3–4× their dry weight.
• Roofing shingles: A single square (100 sq ft) of asphalt shingles weighs 240–350 lbs. A roof generates 3–5 tons — far beyond a 10-yard allowance.

What Goes In — And What Doesn’t

✅ Accepted: Household furniture, mattresses, boxes and general items, light construction debris, non-asbestos drywall, carpet and flooring (non-waterlogged), yard debris (brush, limbs), cabinetry, doors and windows.

❌ Not accepted: Liquid paint, motor oil, batteries, propane tanks, tires, refrigerators with refrigerant intact, electronics (TVs, monitors), asbestos materials (common in pre-1980 Asheville homes), mud and soil.
